On Nov. 1 the Biscay mycological days will take place in  Galdakao locality. Mycological Society "Peña Santa Cruz" is organizing this event which has had great success in the previous 41 years that have been held. One of the most important events of the days is the mushroom-exhibition contest in which mycologists of fungipedia will work with the Itxiarte Mycological Association and we will answer to queries from visitors to the event from our stand . 

We will present, if the weather is good, fungipedia.es web page. All who are interested in attending can view the full activities program at the final of this article. From fungipedia we recommend attending the event since it is an important meeting point between lovers of mycology. Most activities take place in Kurtzeko Square.

October 31, SATURDAY

Location: Kurtzeko Plaza.

Mycological EXCURSION TO MOUNT

Participants: Youth under 12 years of age from Galdakao schools.

Departure: 8:30.

Arrival: from 13:00 to 13:30 hours.

DAY 1 NOVEMBER, SUNDAY

Location: Kurtzeko Plaza.

At 13:30 pm Closing of the "Mycological DAYS OF VIZCAYA XLII, with the distribution of prizes of various competitions and exhibitions.

EXPLANATORY XLII MUSHROOMS OF VIZCAYA

The commission Mycological Society mushroom "Peña Santa Cruz" organizer of the exhibition has decided to select for this 1269 edition varieties of mushrooms.

The selection criteria in which they have based their selection were as follows:

• Book of the 1,000 mushroom Iberian, the Doctor of Pharmacy D. Roberto Lotina Benguria, Fellow of the Society.
• Species that the Society has been collecting over the years that have been displayed in previous editions and not included in previous catalogs.

There are some varieties that are not specific to time, but sometimes the mushrooms are born in different seasons to those normally accustomed, and therefore also shown.

Time: The exhibition will be open to the public from 10 am to 2 pm.

Venue: Plaza Kurtzeko

XXXV MUSHROOMS Gourmet CONTEST

Participants: Companies, individuals and schools catering.

Material: The organization will provide each contestant the camping gas stove, side table, 2 shelves and mushrooms. Tools, utensils and ingredients will be provided by the contestants.

Registration: free will. In the premises of the Mycological Society "Peña Santa Cruz" or phone 685 755 241, until the day of the competition.

When: Sunday 1 November at 10:00.

Venue: Plaza Kurtzeko

Presentation: Contestants must submit their culinary work trays provided by the organization.

An award given Bilbao Bizkaia Kutxa

• Txapela champion and 300€, the contestant who obtains the highest average score of the plates (free seasoning and stirred).
• Award of 150€ and an honorary diploma for the best dish free flavoring.
• Award of honorary degree and 90€ for the second best dish free flavoring.
• Award of honorary degree and 60€ for the third best dish free flavoring.
• Award of 150€, trophy and diploma of honor for the best dish of scrambled eggs with mushrooms.
• Award of 90€, trophy and diploma of honor for the second best dish of scrambled eggs with mushrooms.
• Awars of 60€, trophy and diploma of honor for the third best dish of scrambled eggs with mushrooms.
• Award of 150€ and an honorary diploma for best presentation.

Recipe: Contestants will provide the jury classifier recipe and types of mushrooms used in the preparation of each dish. Spectators can enjoy fine wine from Rioja Alavesa to accompany the mushroom caps thanks to the Mycological Association "Peña Santa Cruz. The covers of renowned chefs prepare.

Gastronomic Jury Composition: It shall consist of professionals renowned cuisine: Josemi Olazabalaga, Aizier Restaurant (Bilbao), Andoni ARRIETA, ANDRA-MARI Restaurant (Galdakao) and Inigo ORDORIKA, ZALLOBARRI Restaurant (Gernika), among others, specialists all in mycological gastronomy.

Distribution of awards: At 13:30 am on 1 November in Kurtzeko Galdakao Square.

MUSHROOM COMPETITION XXXVI no scheduled interscholastic

Participants: Schools and individuals with a maximum age of 12.

Bases:

• There will be an exhibition on 30 varieties of mushrooms selected for this year by the commission of the Mycological Society mushroom "Peña Santa Cruz" as well as 20 free varieties.
• The list of the 30 species covered by this tender and cards for their classification will be made by the "Peña Santa Cruz" to each participant at the time of registration.
